Description

This autobiographical book details the development over 40 years of England's most well-known present day physical medium, Stewart Alexander. A very private man, he has devoted his life to the work of helping those who have been bereaved by helping them make physical contact with those loved ones who have passed over. Not content with his own mediumship he has, over many years, looked into the mediumship of past well-known mediums who have been accused of fraudulent acts despite a mountain of genuine evidence for their mediumship and has included his observations in these pages. A very readable book.

The Power of the Spirit world

Approximately two years following the formation of the 'Elton Project Experimental Circle' we experienced the most extraordinary event which actually began outside of the séance room and ended within it.

On what I clearly recall was a most beautiful, cloudless day, Ray, my sister Gaynor and I, arrived in Elton, as always at about 1 o'clock. The sun was shining and there was a strong summer breeze. As always, Alan greeted us warmly and within minutes we were sitting listening as he chatted away to us, standing as he always did, with one foot in his lounge and the other in his kitchen.

By two o'clock the elusive cups of tea had still failed to arrive but, as always, it did not seem to matter.

I was sitting immediately opposite one of the windows which was partly open and which had its blind lowered to keep out the sun. On a small table immediately in front of it stood a large vase filled with flowers, and I noticed that every few moments, the blind, caught by the breeze, would rattle against it. Alan was in the middle of relating one of his stories when, suddenly, the blind shot out and smashed into the vase, which tipped forward and fell towards the carpet. All four of us watched in horror at its descent, which seemed to be played out in slow motion. Before it ended its journey, we observed the flowers, together with what must have been a pint of water, parting company with the vase.

Alan ran into his kitchen and returned almost immediately carrying a floor cloth in order to mop up the water. Getting down on his hands and knees and feeling the carpet, he stopped after a while, rested back on his haunches and began to laugh. "Come and see", he said. "Come and feel the carpet!"

Unbelievably, when we did so we realised that it was completely dry, and yet we had all clearly seen a large amount of water gush out of the vase moments earlier. It seemed inexplicable, and we spoke about little else for the rest of the day.

That evening, six hours after that mysterious event, we were sitting in the circle in Alan's small séance room when little Christopher, our Spirit Communicator calmly announced that he had something for us. There followed a whooshing sound and in seconds we were all soaked to the skin by falling water. Understandably we were initially shocked and incredulous, but after a few moments we were highly amused. Somehow, six hours previously, the Spirit People had dematerialised the water from the vase in an instant, held it in suspension somewhere, and then, hours later, returned it to us.

Such is the power of the Spirit world.
